Default Anyone used one of these?

Going to buy some new inshore rods, but I am a college student so I'm looking for some affordable rods. Thinking about getting another Teramar, but I stumbled upon these when on the Bass Pro website. http://www.basspro.com/AllStar-ASR-S...04737/-1646173 Anybody used one?

Allstar rods are great but you could step down a little and accomplish the same thing. Below are my favorite combos that are very affordable. The top link is a combo I've used in fresh and saltwater for 4 years now and have landed a 31lb redfish using 14lb test. The drag held up great. The only knock is the spool tends to turn a little green. I don't know if it is from the braided line or saltwater but it wipes off with a little cleaner. The second combo is one I've only had about 6 months and I have not complaints so far.

A buddy of mine has a few of these, MH 10-20lbs line rating. We were catching bull reds the other day and it had plenty of backbone to slow em down plus a good tip for slinging artificials.

I'd go with penn combo's. Just my personal choice. I also love allstar rods. I have some over 15 yrs old and never had a problem. One good thing about Bps stuff is if it breaks you can take it right back to the store for an exchange (at least you could in the past).

Half hitch makes a graphite rod for 8-12# . Best $30 you can spend.

Looking at the cool looking rods today, they were all made in China.

Good luck,

I got one of the carbonlite rods from bass pro shops, I love it. Light as a feather, great feel, accurate, and no problem landing big reds. Same as allstar but bass pro shop brand. Definitely getting another.

I've had nothing but good luck with Shimano Scimitars. They're affordable and will land a bull red all day long. Good casting and it's put up with my abuse over the years.
