Default TS Erika now has its sights on the Big Bend region of Florida

As of now the NHC models are pointing TS Erika closer this way. Throughout the day they have been shifting the storm further west. We shall see what happens with the forecast over the next 24 hours.

This could be interesting.

Im coming down to Destin over labour day weekend to fish Friday through Monday. I was hoping to catch some hard to find Red Snapper.

I know the winds will pick up the swell but what does a TS do to the actual fishing?

Will the bite be good after the storm moves through the area?

As long as its not a Rough Mud hole fishing will be fine on beaches . If its super rough & Nasty,,, Find some protected clean water Ie, "Wind to your Back" & water protected "Calm" From shore. Fish will be every where.

Wow, Just like that all man kind is going to be just fine.
Less that 24 hours ago we were being told to take cover.

Got to love our media that sensationalizes EVERYthing.

I guess its all for the ratings, need to get everybody all panicked so they are glued to the box.

This is true the media, local and mainstream, sure capitalizes on sensationalism. It is why I started my post with "as of now" since forecast models were throwing TS Erika all over the place yesterday. I will say I am glad she came apart earlier this morning, though some models are showing re-strengthening back into a tropical storm in the next 2-3 days (graph below).

We also now have the luxury of seeing what happens with the next wave coming off of Africa as I type this; currently it has an 80% chance of formation within the next 48 hours.

Thanks for watching out SL
It's the one that you don't watch that could really put a damper on things. I just hope T.S. Fred heads N.E. as most projections indicate. I'd hate for it to end up being the bastard child of Hurricane Fredrick that plenty here did not have the pleasure to experience kind of like Hurricane Camille.

As I recall Ivan was downplayed as "weakening" before she destroyed my home.

I'm okay with hype if it makes us prepare better.
