Default Trouble off the LA coast

Has anyone seen the system in the Gulf off LA coast. May be our first tropical system?

I just looked it's coming. No ARS season this year. Unless they changed the 3 days to another date.

Ok ok ok, false alarm, looks like those upper level sheer winds or the still slightly cool water temps or the approaching fronts or our old friend El Niņo has intervened. Anyway PTL looks like we dodged the bullet....but it got my attention. "Keep a line in the water" Fishin'Don

Were still not out of the woods, TD 2E in the Pacific is forecast to cross Mexico into the Bay of Campeche and enhances what is already in the Gulf meaning even without a tropical system we could see a lot of thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rains.

Yes I saw that little ditty too last night. Probably just be a lot of rain and thunderstorms. One of the worst early storms I remember was Juan back in the late 80's, flooded south Texas bad in early June. Just made Cat 1 but had a lot of rain. The gulf is still a little cool to generate a real high wind storm but could make for some devastating rain events. This system looks to be a wet one coming out of Old Mexico. We'll keep our fingers crossed.

Conditions can change pretty rapidly in the Gulf and become very favorable quickly.

Hurricane Dennis formed relatively early, so I always keep an eye out in the Gulf this time of year.
