Up to a Cat 3!

So, do I Shutter the 26 openings or not?

I guess I will go fuel up now.

We are in Fort Walton Beach, should we be concerned?
Prepared. And watch. Have your plan in place, we keep ours in place all during the hurricane season, to illuminate the encounters of panicked people as landfall draws near.

I will make my decision this evening, it takes 6 hours to Shutter by myself. Got my fuel in vehicles topped off. And cans filled for the Genny, water check, ice made, 4 tanks of propane for the barbecue

DO NOT FORGET BEER!!
I was able to secure a lot of help after Ivan with the promise of ice cold beer, more valuable than cash in your pocket.

Hurlburt Field is evacuating aircraft to Little Rock as Hurricane Michael approaches.

The aircraft will be moved to Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas, to keep them safe. Channel 3 is being told personnel are not being evacuated at this time.

The aircraft being evacuated are AC-130J Ghostriders, AC-130U “Spooky” Gunships, MC-130H Combat Talon IIs and PC-12s.

If Cantore shows up your gold. If Mike Bettes shows up start the shutters. Cantore is usually about 50 miles from landfall holding on to a street sign.

For a rental, I would just leave. Those last few days would suck if you lose power and can't go anywhere due to flooding. One thing to hang around because it's your home, just stupid to hang around cause you don't want to lose a couple days of rent money.

We have those aluminum fan-fold shutters. They stay up year round and take about 20 minutes to close. Only on the south-side of the house, which gets the brunt of the wind/rain.

I walk around the house with a scotch in one hand and press a button next to the winders. Dang Bahama shutters on the front side suck. Huge Sago in front of everyone.

Tennessee is going to be a lot safer than the beach. Plus if you drove down here and stay your car might get a saltwater bath. When the wind gets over 39 mph Fl. DOT will shut down all the bridges

Reviewing the latest hurricane updates, I believe staying on the beach may not be the most favorable idea for a vacation. My son is employed by one of the largest style resort hotel on the beach and scheduled to work on Wed. Capacity is 98% as of tonight and he is expected to work under generator power if necessary to service guest that choose to stick it out.
Winds are predicted to exceed 39 mph on Wed preventing passage to cross bridge during his schedule shift. If predictions stay as is, my son will be serving drinks to his hurricane family party far away from the generator beach party. The "trapped servers" will be granted refuge in available remaining rooms and worked as needed till normal operations may resume once winds calm.
Be prepared and have fun, definitely a vacation you'll never to forget!

Last update from me. Since Michael made landfall the rain has stopped here. Winds are down, except for higher altitude winds. You can watch the clouds skipping by going to the WSW as the storm came ashore.

I did see a pair of falcons, or small hawks, working the neighborhood. Seen lots of hawks after Ivan in 2004. Natures way, they are quick to capitalize on any natural disaster.
