Default Hurricane Ike

Hey guy's. I am not a weather man nor do I claim to be one, and I didn't stay inHoliday Inn Express last night. But............................Does it look like to anyone else that the storm has taken a more Northerly track over the last couple of hours?

yea, its heading straight to LA right now. Where's that LA forecast map?

its going to have to make a major sharp left hand turn to meet the tracking forecast. Them dang ole hurricanes, when will they learn to listen?

Hey everbody,

I'm new to this board, I heard about it form a good friend of mine and he told me to check it out. It looks like a great place to learn some great stuff and also share what I know. I saw the Hurricane section and checked it out for some info. I'm headed down to Panama City beach Friday morning. Do yall think Ike will affect the fishing in the gulf? How Bad will it stir things up? I'll be doing surf fishing and fly fishing too. Thanks in advance for any help.

Welcome to the forum!

Hurricanes (or any bad weather for that matter) usually turn the bit on after they pass. I don't think this weekend will give the weather enough time to pass though and I think the seas will still be quite high to be able to fish (especially from a boat). That's just my opinion though...

where are you guys seeing it will not move east to LA? Everything I am seeing has it still hitting south of Houston/Galveston in less than 48 hours, then coming and passing through Dallas Sat night or Sunday AM. Local projections for Dallas say the eye will be within 50 miles of Dallas, sustained winds at 45 MPH and gusts to 80 here in Dallas. Should make for a fun weekend up here.
