Default Gustav Destin Photos & Video Clips

Destin MWR.

We drove up to Ft Benning Rec area to walk out on their pier & see the Bay this morning. We turned the corner and over by their marina wesaw this familiar boat sitting on its trailer. Low and behold after further investigation, it turned out to be our old boat, the first Reel Finatical! It felt so strange. The closer we got to her the more we saw our old dents, amateur patchwork on the hull, the stuff I had changed out last summer... wow!!..We were told it had been shipped to Ft Lauderdale, but I think that was BS. It felt weird, like reuniting with a family member! lol All those memories started flooding our minds. Almost a year later & she's sitting behind our house almost - too cool. =) I wonder who the newowners are - military visiting from GA orMS maybe? Anyone know the Keep R Wet family?

Here are a few that I took this morning from Rte. 331 down to Blue Mountain Beach and West to the Pompano St. beach access in Destin.

This is looking East on the causeway on 331 on Chocktawhatchee Bay. That fishing dock is usually about 3' out of the water.

This is the same spot looking West! Amazing what a little break in the water will make.

Traffice heading North on the 331 bridge. It was solid from Freeport to Rte. 98 and a waiting line in the turn lanes to 331 for about a mile in both directions on 98.

Lifeguard stand at one of the beach accesses at Blue Mountain beach. Breakers are out there almost a mile in the distance.

One of the beach homes on Blue Mountain beach. The water was rolling up under the house a time or two.

Taken from the Crab Shack parking lot in Destin looking East. This was about 1:30 P.M. this afternoon!! Almost dark out there!!

Same shot looking straight out onto the Gulf. Even the gulls were grounded.

And looking West from the parking lot.

The flag pole at the Pompano St. beach access. This is where we usually launch kayaks for Gulf fishing offshore or at the Mary Louise. A VERY short drag to the water today!! The surf came up as far as the base of the pole while I was standing there.

East from the Pompano Street access. Looks safe enough. Maybe I'll just step out a bit further and take a photo the other direction.

....................... Uh oh. That lady got soakedand I was out further than she was!! Danged rogue waves!!!

Great pics! It is nice to have a visual for the Pompano St. access. I was thinking about trying my kayak there this Sat. Looked a wee bit rough for it yesterday! :letsparty
