Default Don't forget!!!

Don't forget to lock the crap out of your generator. Thieves are all over the place. Don't think they won't hesitate to take your generator when they don't have one.. It'd be a shitty way to wake up in the morning to find out it's gone! Stay safe folks!

+1 Austin Saw that happen a lot after Ivan. I have a spot for mine laid out with chains, locks and not visible from the road. Also has a fence around it. Also I won't leave it out if I leave the house for any reason.

Would it be illegal to lay traps in the backyard? I think bear traps are illegal but what about other traps?

Someone stole my co-worker's generator while he and his family were sleeping during Ivan and placed a POS lawn mower in it place so they wouldn't notice. His was chained to an oak tree, they just cut the chain.

I heard a story just like that after Ivan. Thought it happened around Grand Lagoon.

Setting any type of trap is not legal at all....you can set audible alarm or buy one of the motion activated buzzers that are heard only in the house. So you can greet your uninvited guest with some heat!

I'm not a lawyer but I do play one on the internet...................

I do believe that setting any kind of trap around one's home is illegal. I remember a story somewhere about a guy setting a trap for burglars after his home was hit numerous times. IIRC it worked like a charm, killing (or may have been seriously injuring) an intruder. Guy got big jail time.

Yep my wife nixed my remote operated dual .50s idea to cover the front yard. We're still fighting over the "pool versus moat w/gators" landscaping plan.
