I can install the Wayne Dalton Fabric shield for almost the same price as steel panels.

we have a combination of coverage, some rolling shutters, steel panels and kelvar type fabric. I put the fabric on sides that aren't likely to get full wind but strong wind and blowing objects. Think I did half the house for about $1,500 installed. Easy to put up and down too.

What ever you decide on Make Sure you get a Licensed Contractor. Be careful of people using someone else to pull their permits for them. Hurricane protection is required to have a contractors license and permits are required!

Too Tall is a GC and will probably give you a great price with very good work ethics

in Alabama, I;m pretty sure my building permit on new construction is all that is needed.
should not need to pull an addtional permit for installation of window protection

I have the fabrics shields for my house. Easy to put up and take down by your self. Store in cardboard tubes in the garage. After they are up I don't think the wind can really pull them off. If the wind does your gonna have bigger problems
