11:00 update shows it coming right up the west coast of Florida.

George, I was there in Destin during Labor Day last year and a tornado hit our hotel and tossed a table into my car, which cost me a $500 deductable. That isn't going to happen to me again. My butt is staying home this year if a storm is coming.

Crown Weather on Facebook is now saying that he thinks this is a Gulf Coast storm instead of an East Coast storm and he even says that a good analogous historical track to use for comparison would be hurricane Frederic from 1979.

"My thoughts as of late this afternoon for Florida, the US Southeast Coast and the Gulf Coast with Isaac is that I think it may end up being either a hit on Florida or a landfall in the central or eastern Gulf states. Timeframe would range from Monday/Tuesday if Isaac goes to Florida to a landfall on Thursday of next week if this ends up in the eastern Gulf of Mexico and makes landfall along the central/eastern US Gulf Coast. I do not think Isaac is a East Coast storm, but rather a Gulf or Florida storm.

One analogous storm that may be good to look at is Hurricane Frederic from 1979. It is conceivable that Isaac could follow a similar track and a similar intensity."
