Default 1st Hurricane didn't take long

Man, we have been receiving traffic on this thing the last couple of days. Just looked and seen the wind speed. 3 days ago it was named and topped at a #5 already. Suppose to die but main that is a quick build.

Hope it isn't an indication of what the Atlantic waters will be doing.

Murf they always start on the West coast. Forecast for us is suppose to be a good one, el nino is suppose to keep them in check. Keep your fingers crossed.

It only takes one storm to make it a bad year.

want to talk about rapid intensification, look up Hurricane Wilma in 05'...bottomed out from a Cat 1 storm to the lowest recorded barometric pressure in the Atlantic Basin in less than 24 hours...no way to really predict what we are going to see, I have studied tropical cyclones for nearly 20 years and still don't understand why they do what they do...time to dust off and restock on the emergency supplies just in case

Just got back from Sherman Cove. There are 2 ft high piles of sargasso all along the South side of NAS land cut from the 20 knt south winds.

Looks like we might have something in the gulf by this time next week if the models hold together...take it with great deal of skepticism because it is a full week away and a lot can happen, but just putting out the info for anyone interested! If anything it will drive all the Snapper fisherman crazy, don't think there has been a calm day this entire season (all 2 days of it anyways)...

zoom the swell model out to the North Atlantic and follow it thru its full cycle...I know its a surf forecast site but they are typically fairly accurate in their models and predictions...take care all!
