Looking for someone who could make a house call to check my 09. 225 mercury Optimax out. It runs good it started where it’s slow to get on a plane.

Good luck getting someone to make a house call... Is there some reason you cant tote it somewhere? If you can't tote it somewhere, someone on here would probably help ya out getting it somewhere... Not to mention since season is upon us, most shops will have a waiting list... Good luck on finding someone, just make sure it's not a yahoo coming to pay you a visit....

What Jason says is spot on, also not many techs in this area can work on OptiMax. Choose wisely and ask questions. By the way I can. Can’t do a house call, but I can surly work on it for you.

Thx everyone, I have a trailer, I just hate to unload it and then take it somewhere and let it sit for 1 or 2 weeks. What do y’all think about me changing plugs first and go from there. Could it be a spark problem not jumping out of the water but running good after it gets up.

Wont hurt to try it, but throwing parts at it isnt the way to go. If it was mine, I'd take it to Kenny.

Could be plugs... my optimax acts like that when it has fouled plugs. Don’t know where you are located, but outboards unlimited in Milton used to work on my opti. They were pretty quick and never did me wrong...

I have no idea where you're located, but if you're in the P'cola area call Scott's Marine in Elberta. I just picked my boat up from being serviced and they were starting to get busy, but not waiting 2 weeks busy (yet).
It may be a little bit of a haul to get there, but I've had such good customer service there that I tow my boat an hour just to take it there.
