Default X-box question

my sister bought my nephew an x-box a few months ago. it was a referb from game stop. last night he put in his new halo game and about ten minutes into the game crash. the screen froze. powered down and now nothing. just a black screen with a line. hooked to a different television and nothing. did all the reset and unplugging that was suggested and nothing. out of warranty. any suggestions?

There are numerous people on craigslist that repair game systems the same day for a fairly reasonable rate.

thanks brother i just looked him up. 40.00 bucks sure beats the crap out of 200.00. either me or my 66 year old dad would had to have spend the cash to get it done. i am the boys strong uncle. his dad walked out on them several years ago and has nothing to do with him. he did not call for christmas this year nor send a gift. when the kid called his dad yesterday and told him what was going on he said he would see what he could do. YEA. anyway thanks for heads up.

I may be wrong, but the refurbished units from Gamestop have a warranty with them. Make sure you call them first you may just be given a new unit.

He said it was out of warranty, most refurb units only have a short warranty in them. But $40 to fix it is a great deal.
