Default WTB Wood for Smoker (Oak, Pecan, Hickory, Etc.)

New to the area, so I'm not sure what kind of smoking wood there is around here. I'd like to get my hands on some pieces of oak or pecan if I could. If anyone know any place I could find some, please let me know!

I saw the post about firewood, but that's not really what I'm looking for. Ideally I'd get some pieces that are cut about 1-1.5 ft long and 6-8" in diameter, or thereabouts.

Thanks!

How large are the pieces and where are you located? (I ask because I don't have a chainsaw here )

chunks like 2-3' long, 4" to 20ish" thick. dont need a chainsaw just a wedge and sledge or ax.
