msrp: 20,000
+ $500
+ Tax (now forget tax)
20,500 MSRP
Invoice $17,000 (So forget the $3500)
DEALER INCENTIVES (Check on edmunds) $5,000 per F-150 (these edmunds #'s are made up)
CUSTOMER INCENTIVES (check on edmunds) $1,000
What is the real invoice to the dealership?????
$11,000
Offer $11,500 and I most likely paid 5k less than you.
I sold cars for a year and a half after college.
The only way a dealership would sell below the true invoice is if it was a contest. The only way to get that would be to go to a very large dealer b/c they would most likley be the front runner for the contest. There is no way to know if there is a contest going on.
Im not trying to knock you...but your going to have to come back with something better than quoting numbers off edmunds. They knocked almost $12,000 off my new sierra before we ever threw the trade in the deal for my taco. Being i got within $800 of what i paid for my 9month old taco i came out way ahead. Not to mention that $12,000 was about $6,000 below the quote invoice price. Your 1.5 yrs of selling doesnt match up to about 33 years of watching my dad and grandpa trading trucks and cars. Plus this is probably 15th truck or car I ve bought or traded myself. Cant say Ive won them all but i have walked out with a smile on my face more than a few times.

If they have room to knock 10 and 12K off a vehicle then there is a lot more room in them than what they let you think. I got a fully loaded sierra 4x4 black leather, big motor, built in trailer breaking system...it even came with a sprayed in bed liner and 20" rimps for a little over $29K. Sticker was 41,300 plus the liner as add on.

You might consider going over to Astro Lincoln Mercury. They also own a Ford Dealership over in Mississippi. They got my truck for me at a very competitive price

I don't want to get in a pissing match but dealers are not rich off selling crap for less than they pay. It just makes no dam since. Edmunds is a tool to use to find dealer incentives that are not advertised to the public. I payed 17,500 for a 2009 Titan which the MSRP was at over 30K due to edmunds.

Are you saying I lied? Real cool... What would be the point? Every year Nissan does their tent event and it's 10K off the Titan (check edmunds) Which would put original MSRP at 22K or so add the 10K back to get to over 30K which means the mark up was about 5K which is normal in big trucks wouldn't you say????

No, read before you talk.
I quoted K-Bills post, like he said, yall are pretty much arguing a point in different ways but are saying the samething. Guess people just look for a reason to argue.
