I have been wearing the 6" Wolverine MultiShox steel toes from Academy Sports for several years. They rubber soled, waterproof, slip resistent, oil resistent..... I am on my feet all day kicking shovels and steel stakes in sand, mud, grass, concrete, etc and they usually last at least a year or more before wearing out. They run around $110 bucks.

I would go the extra mile and get the ones that stop nails from coming up into you'r foot. The timeberlands cost about $150 a pair and weigh about 3lbs if that. Good luck on what you choose. I have been through this a lot.

Different job so different needs. I found ACADAMEY had the most vesertile and the red wing shop or whatever it is called on 29 is the most helpful on service. Your call. ........

Just a point to ponder. Go cheap on work boots like I did for 40 years and you will be walking in constant pain and having cortisone shots in your heels like I did yesterday.

Same here but I buy the water proof ones for $115. I work around caustic and sulfuric acid and usually get six months out of them.

I've been wearing some Belleville's steel toes for general construction/ engineering tech work. Goretex makes them water resistant, they also allow good ventilation. They fit well like tennis shoes/sneakers, but they're high top lace ups. And they're good enough for our troops overseas. Dunno any local retailer though, can you get on base?
