Default Wood Flooring

Any recommendations? I need about 1100 sq feet installed. Guess the cheapest place to buy is Lumber Liquidators. Whats the going rate for instillation for a floating floor?
Thanks

lumber liq for sure. ask what they have in the back on close out also, its hit and miss but sometimes there are some deals on returns/closeouts/etcetc.. if no existing floor demo or floor leveler needed, $2-$3 p sq ft is fair. shoot me a pm if you need help on this, i have done many wood floors for forum members.

I installed about 900 sqft of Bruce wood flooring from Lowes. It was so easy to install, It took me 2 days. If you pay someone to install it, the price almost doubles, rediculous. Just get a good underlayment material and have a good chop saw. The Bruce flooring I put in it real wood but it is thin and kinda soft so you have to worry about dents and it scratches kinda easy. But, It is amazing looking. Worth every penny.

And remember to measure you floor space and add around 10 percent extra. You might need the extra wood for mistakes or bad measuring. I needed every extra foot I could get and still had to go back and buy more boxes.

Good luck.

I know a lady that sells bamboo wood floors out of a small shop, she has installers or i have a buddy thats been doing this for years. If you are interested send me a pm. Bamboo is better than wood floors.

A good chop saw is a must. It is an easy job with the only setback being the transition pieces required when two different floors meet. This took me as long as installing the wood. remember to leave a 1/4" against all walls. Moulding covers the gap and the gap leaves room for tempertures to expand the wood.

You get what you pay for in flooring? Get real wood if you can afford it. Cheap is not always the best....You will thank me in the long run. Same applies to any kind of flooring, carpet etc
