Anyone had them installed? Did they cut heat buildup much?
If so, recommend an installer locally! thanks |

We bought some window tent a few weeks ago for our big sliding door and did it ourselves. It took a minute to get it right and it's held up great with no bubbles. Used to you could feel the sun burning through about 5ft away. Now you have to touch the door to feel anything.
I'll ask my dad where he got it from. It's tinted and has semi reflective film on it too and when your outside you can't see in from the reflective tint. Heck of a lot cheaper than getting someone to install it. Edit: bought it at Lowes Last edited by deersniper270; 06-28-2012 at 11:00 PM. |

I have put it on alot of my windows. Works great even on double paned glass. It's good to leave a 1/4 inch or more around all edges. I always just pre-measured and pre-cut and then install the film. I don't like putting it on and then trimming it. |

I installed residential window mirror tint because it had the highest percentage of reflecting heat versus the lighter shades of window film. After tinting one window, with the morning sun shining through I could barely feel the heat of the sun through the tinted window; it was night to day figuratively standing in front of the tinted and untinted window. The garage now stays noticeably cooler than it use to before the windows were tinted.

What I believe hebegb is referring to is the solar screens that pop in place of standard screens.

yes, but if the tint works as well it might be easier and cheaper! |
