Ya and Texas looked solid last year. How does Florida hire a first time hc?

Big mistake, Ron Zook part II. I guess Buckethead was right, FSU will dominate us for a few years now.

Honestly, can't believe how arrogant some Gator fans are. The guy is a good coach, give him a chance. Love the Jimbo insults. Jimbo is exactly what FSU needed. A young, energetic coach who knows how to run a program in the modern era. Go ahead, keep ripping on Jimbo while he compiles phenomenal recruiting classes and actually guides FSU to success. You'll be fine with Muschamp. Chill out.

I mean damn! This guy hasn't even put on a Gator hat, and already he's taking a kick to the gem bag. Let's give the guy a chance! Fun thread.

Neither was Jimbo a head coach when he came to fsu and was named the heir appparent.
I read the bio on this guy. He has extensive and diverse experience, including some time in the NFL.
U.F. has never had the number of discipline issues that has unearthed recently, and I would venture to say that it will be addressed by our new Coach very quickly. It is worth stating, that Muschamp was the first and only person interviewed for the Head Coaching job at U.F.. I feel certain that this was well thought out by Foley, and I like the call. Time will tell.

[QUOTE=bare bones 24;597413] Why on Earth would you let someone have their first head coach job at an elite University?

Most importantly, he has a great character and values. I look forward to the team getting back on track and playing with heart.
Exactly. Go back and look at the Chizik hire at Auburn. A lot of head scratching with that one. But Jay Jacobs apparently knew what he was doing.

Guys don't get so dishearted. Meyer was a virtual untested Coach on a big level and look what he did when he had the competitive fire burning in his belly. Muschamp will be just fine and it will all work out. Don't sweat the small stuff. As you've seen from this season the OC and DC are far more important than the head Coach. Just sit back and relax and see what he can do before you throw him under the buss.

OK I'm all in with this guy. Go Gators... One good thing about this hire is he can get started right away with UT not being in a bowl game this year. Rumor has it some of the recruits he was responsible of signing with Texas are thinkung about following him to UF.
