Someone stole my Costas out of my truck a couple days ago and I just ordered a new pair of Wiley X P-17's.
It seems to me the last 2-3 pair of Costas Ive had just havent held up, granted I am a little rough on them and maybe im expecting too much out of them considering I wear them to work, play and everthing in between. I decided to try some of the Wiley-x's, a couple guys I know have them and speak greatly of them , has anyone here have any experience with them? Fielro and badonskybuccaneers like this.

I've worn them for years. Can't say enough good things about them. I'm only bummed that the frames I have aren't made anymore, they fit better than anything else I've ever had. I wear them twice as much as the costas I have.

Heard the same about Costas. Poor quality for the cost. I have one pair for inshore I rarely wear- I prefer Maui Jim, but have heard some good things about Wiley X.

I had a pair of X's years ago and really liked em....but now that I have finally found a costa style frame I like after having a few pair, I'll stick with them.

Only used wifey x for tactical stuff but they are super nice when it comes to ballistic glasses. Always wanted to swap out lenses just never have.

I had a pair of Maui Jims that I bought in Hawaii in 1999 and loved them. Last summer I set them on the deck of my bass boat and forgot about them and took off and that was the end of them. I have a pair of Costas and just don’t care for them. I’m now using Guidelines and they’re OK. I guess I just got spoiled on the way the Maui Jims felt on my face and the customer service is outstanding. I had a broken arm and sent them back to Mau Jim with a check for $20 I believe it was and they put on a new arm, cleaned them up, and sent them back in a new bamboo case with a new cleaning cloth. I guess it comes down to how they feel for you and of course the customer service with the price of these glasses now a days.
I've worn Wiley X for many years in the Corps but that was for tactical reasons not for their polarization for fishing so I couldn't really comment on that aspect. Different glasses. Just go with what works for you.
