Back when dubya wasfirst elected and the GOP was in control of the House and Senate why did they not fix all that the evil Democrats had screwed up? Why? What did they do, did they outlaw abortion, that was one of there biggest talking points and yet it is still legal. So if you cannot afford the gas you need to set your a$$ at home and come up with more ways to blame the Democrats for all that is wrong with the world. I'll bet dubya's buddies at Exxon have plenty of money and gas for there contender.

I think all the finger pointing is stupid. I think it's coming to that time to forget about parties and just get stuff done! Too many people with their own agendas!!

I'm with you, konz,

Let's stop the feet dragging and finger pointing, and 1) do what we need to do to relieve some of the pressure on our current reserves, and 2) get real about finding an alternate energy source (and I don't mean ethanol!)

What's it going to take????? I think someone said something about Boston Tea Party, part deaux?

That was an excellent post and illustrates exactlythe point thatfew peopleunderstand.

You can't prohibit drilling for oil and not have the price of gas increase anymore than you can prohibit the harvest of wheat and not have the cost bread go up.

It's simple economics, but beyond the comprehension of people like Shakedown whowant to blame everyone except the people who are really at fault -- themselves -- forwanting drilling anywhere else but in their backyards. Hopefully with the price starting to hurt, people will wise up, but with citizens as stupid as Shakedown around, I'm not encouraged.

It's a world commodity and demand is way up (China, India). With supply and processing basically at a constant, it's basic economics. Prices Go up.

We need to get off some of our hydrocarbons asap!

However, I find the dog and pony show in Washington with the oil execs asinine due to the fact that the government makes more off a gallon of gasoline than the oil companies and the states even more!.

It reminds me of the "Atlas Shrugged" novel.

Well said Konz, I have been saying for years now they need to get rid of the party system. All they do is fight and bicker between each other and nothing gets done. Here's an idea, how about running for office based on your idea's and plan's for the country, not how bad your opponent is.

I agree part of the problem is speculators, supply and demand and the falling value of the U.S. dollar. I also believe that there are people in our government who are enjoying the skyrocketing price of fuel because they are lining their pockets with our hard earned money.

Reread the post my intelligent friend. You've mistaken me for someone who gives a shit about the cost of oil. Because I DONT give a shit, I dont blame anyone (I know it's frustrating). My comprehension of issues is beyond anything you could possibly comprehend.
