My work phone is ATT and my personal phone is Verizon. I like the Verizon better but my ATT is not as bad as you are saying yours is. I bet the terrible service is from your phone and not the service provider.

I can't comment on your specific area coverage but I travel all over the US and Canada in my job. I have had Verizon for years and there is seldom a place I can't get a usable signal. Sure, out of the way places like Nowhere, North Dakota or northern Alberta coverage is not so good but neither is anyone else's.

i am with Verizon.

not sure if there better then any of the others, but i started with a company in 1992, they were bought out by gte that was bought out by alltell that was bought out by Verizon.
so i guess i have been here 19 years now.

i do not care for Verizon closing all the stores around so you have to do most of you business on line.

but during Ivan we had 6 different carriers at the house and my alltell phone was the only carrier to work , so in case of emergency I'm staying with the system i have been with even after there bought out down the road. my .02

You should ask about customer service as well. If you have a problem with your phone, can you go to a store and get help within a reasonable about of time? Or do you have to call and try to get help over the phone? Having a local store that is there to help is worth a lot....

friend of mine works for ATT and still keeps his verizon phone. I have a verizon GZone (waterproof to 10 feet) and it works great. Rugged and can be thrown across the parking lot (5 year old tossed it about 20 feet) and still works. I don't do the internet surf stuff so don't need the other phones. Now, this phone is NOT indestructible, lawnmower tore it up into 1 inch chunks.......

Default AT&T Rural Coverage Sucks

Verizon is by far the best. We did an exhaustive study at work. Really. Took an AT&T and a Verizon phone to every location we service (Panama City to Birmingham Al)

Verizon won hands down in the signal department. And what else is there.
