I was in foods class about 45min outside State College PA, we had heard about the first plane and where watching the tv when the bell rang and I had to head to math class where our teacher wouldn't let us watch, she said it was and accident. Fairly regularly we would have some mil jets fly down our valley or "dog fight" in the area but about 5 min into class a couple jets came over our school at what must have been mach 2 about the top of the trees. Image the blues practice on the west side only 5 times louder. When the jets came over she flipped the tv on just in time to see the sec plane hit. I don't remember if it was live but I remember the black screen getting color and then 3 secs later a huge ball of fire, she changed her view and we watched the rest of class.

Hanging rafters on a barn that morning. My neighbor came down and told me what was happening. I made it home in time to see the towers come down live.

I imediately called my wife at work and told her to go to the bank and take out a thousand dollars in cash. I took my 100 gallon farm tank to town and topped it off with diesel. We had no idea what was going to happen to our lives that day.

Was troubleshooting an issue in a residential neighborhood. As so many have mentioned I can almost describe the detail so exactly it is insane. The placement of the vehicle I was driving and how I hooked up a test set to view the second plane hit and the towers collapse. First thing I did was pack up and go to my family at the school my wife taught at. I didn't know what was happening next but I was not going to be away from my wife and children.

The feelings that resurface every year at this time are so powerful.

This will never be forgotten!

I gave my little ones great big hugs this morning before I left the house. I know what day it is, but to them it is just another day at this point in their lives.

Went to a small service this morning at work and we were told as a group not to let our children and future generations learn about 9-11-2001 in the history books. We were told to discuss it openly and explain it to our children and help them understand what happened and to remind ourselves Freedom is not free.

I worked in Georgia on a line crew when I heard about the first one we went to the office and saw the second one live. We were all in shock and so mad we knew instantly terrorist had done this. It was so crazy when we went outside around Atlanta airport a NO airplanes in the sky and so quite outside like the world stood still. God Bless America

Stationed aboard the USS DeWert in Mayport, Fl working on charts. Our OS1 came in and said a plane flew into the WTC. We didn't believe him because he was always pulling tricks then the CO came over the 1 MC.

Everyone left port but us and two more boats so we went to GQ for hours and stayed on Condition III for a couple of days. The ship was in cold Iron.

I was walking into Warrington Hardware to pick up some plumbing stuff for a rental. Lady behind the counter (can't remember her name anymore but used to talk to her almost daily) said a plane had hit one of the Towers. I shrugged it off thinking some GA pilot pulled a real boner. Got my stuff and as I drove down Barrancas Ave. my girlfriend (now wife) called me, very upset and told me what happened (still first aircraft). I told her to calm down, stuff happens every day in aviation then she let out a yelp and said another one hit. I was so confused I pulled into West Marine's parking lot to sort it out with my GF. She was almost hysterical so I drove to her office to calm her down. When I got there her boss had the TV on and filled me in. We just sat there stunned for a while. Boss called and told me to buy three TVs and at least 4 of the biggest American flags I could locate and get them out to his facility.

My daughter was working (still does) at Pensacola Aviation Center. When the full story hit me I called her and told her to go home RIGHT NOW! I was worried about her being anywhere close to aircraft.

Went back to work at Coastal Airport in Beulah just long enough to put "X"s down on both ends of the runway to signify that the field was closed to any traffic.

After I was done with that we went home. I lived on Bayou Grande and a buddy came by to talk about it. He suggested we take my boat out to relax and reflect. I remember reacting with "Are you out of your f&%^ing mind? If I even drop that thing crank up and head towards the channel the Navy will blow our asses out of the water!".

I did understand that things changed that day forever.
