FSU hasn't gotten whooped once this year. Don't see where that BS is coming from. FSU was in the game with OU with 7:00 remaining with our starting QB on the sideline, and our best receiver getting checked for head trauma (not to mention our 3 other receivers ailing prior to and during the game). Clemson took advantage of stupid penalties by our defense (5 penalties led to first downs and directly to 21 points). Just wondering when the, "Whoopin'," took place? Perhaps I missed that game.

Anybody want to bet on a sellout for the next fsu home game against maryland?

fsu should be 4-2.

Then a second bet on a sellout in the SWAMP when the GATORS will be 4-3?

(I'm guessing a loss to lsu and a split with au and uga.)

ANYBODY, Bueller?... Bueller?

For everbodies' excuses, a home game should be sold out and without empty seats, fsu had a helluva turnout against ou. Why not against maryland?

Was the weather simply "fair" for the fans against ou?

I looked at FSU's schedule today. They should win out. This was the year to go all the way. To bad Clemson has been recruiting as well as FSU and they can coach up talent.

1. Gainesville is far closer to the vast majority of UF's fans. Tallahassee not so much (and gas isn't cheap).
2. The student section has sold out, packed out, screamed their a$$es off, and been into every home game this season, even CSU. I could care less about the old fogey bunch on the shady side, reading books and doing the wave while we're on offense.
3. UF has way, way, way more fans than FSU, you've had a football program for what, 41 more years?
4. The economy isn't helping things, look at UF's streak tanking this year.
5. Most people in Florida have other fun things to do. Most of our fans reside in Florida, you know, where there's other things to do besides grow corn, screw your sister, or watch peaches grow.
6. Winning games puts @$$es in the seats, plain and simple.

I know these are all excuses, but I think it's trite BS for fans, especially Gator fans that consider themselves the most highly esteemed fans on the planet, to drum up this tired old nonsense. Keep it classy JimT, you're better than that. I'd wager if UF had a decade like FSU did, you would've seen the same thing, although I'm sure you'll argue otherwise.

Okay,

Let's consider usc, uga, ole miss, msu, arkansas, au... etc.

We (GATOR fans) are NOT the best fans in the country. That goes to ut in my opinion. Then osu, michigan, texas, texas a&m, lsu, bama, then FLORIDA.

We have been spoiled, but I was a senior at UF when we went 0-10-1. We were still a full house because it was an event.

Perhaps there are better things to do on a Saturday in tally, clemson(yet 5 miles away in Columbus, usc sells out) raleigh, etc.

Sorry, but a SUCCESSFUL program draws fans even in a bad year. Ask uga, msu, ole miss, etc

You completely missed my point(s). I wasn't saying there are better things to do in Tallahassee (although the nightlife is good). My point was, the greater majority of Gator fans that that travel to the game, not the students, don't have to drive nearly as far as the majority of FSU fans traveling. My other point, about those other SEC towns, is that there is nothing else to do. If I lived in Oklahoma, WTHelse is there to do? By the way, their fans are by far the best I have ever encountered, I mean, by far. I just think it's a tired and stupid argument to rag on FSU for not having sell outs when Gator fans outnumber FSU fans 6 to 1, if not worse, in the state of Florida. Do I wish our fans would fill the stadium every game? Absolutely. But look at who we play. The ACC. Not exactly great matchups every weekend. If FSU joins the SEC (I hope they do, although unlikely to happen) and FSU plays bigger games every weekend, you can bet the stadium will be packed.

We had a freshman qb in the Clemson game even if he did play ok it still makes a difference. Look what happen to the Gators when there freshman qb came into the game. I wonder how much a Miami player would of got paid to take either a Starting FSU QB out or a starting Gator QB out.
