It is better to lose a loved one, rather than to have never loved.

Dieing is part of living.

Life is a challenge.

Thoughts are with you.

The last time I cried, was about a minute ago when I read this. We just had to put our dog down, and it brought back some emotions. Sorry about what is happining, but just make the time you have left with him special.

I had a Rottweiler(Duke) it took me years to get over him. I was a single parent bring up two children - he helped me in so many ways - from feeling safe in my house - playing with the children when I had to cook or clean, he was there when I just needed to go for a walk to destress. I got him when my daughter was 3 yearsold/son was4 year 6 months and he died when she was a senior in high school. I feel for you....my prayers are with you......

Sorry to hear about your buddy, Curtis. I had to put my 8 year old Chocolate lab down last year. Still hurt's to think about him. All he ever wanted to do was be with me.

I honestly can't tell you the last time I shed a tear. but I can tell you that if Tyson or Marlin (my dogs) died or were near death I would be heartbroken. best of luck to you, jackson, and the rest of your family curtis.

I think I'll take the dogs outside and throw the ball for a couple of minutes

Man Garbo, after reading the title I was gonna get on here and make fun of ya. But after reading your post I've changed my mind. I've got a golden that turns 11 in Feb. She's got lumps and what not all over. She was had two removals of cancerous lumps so far and we have her checked about once every three months. She has been the greatest dog I have ever known. Gonna be tough when her time comes, and I know its not far off. I feel for you. :angel Prayers sent buddy. Hang in there.

Here is Shelby with her "retarded sister" Sidney. Sidney turns 9 in Jan.

I dread the day I have to see my 12 year old black lab Molly kick the bucket. My dad brought her home as a suprise to me and my younger sister when I was 10. My prayers go out to you and Jackson! :angel

Sorry to hear it Curtis. I had a yellow lab, Jessie, that was part of the family and smarter than alot of people I know. She was with us thirteen years. I still miss her. Amazing with the kids. She kept them out of trouble and I think she enjoyed the abuse they inflicted on her. My oldest boy got a yellowa year and a half ago, named her Jessie. I had my doubts. I never thought she would live up to the name, but so far, she's doing a good job of it. It's hard but the memories will always be there.

JoeZ, that video, what can I say. Sad story. I can't understand how anybody could hurt a baby and I hope both of them get what they deserve in prison.

I cant say I know what you are going through. Ihavent been in that situation.I do know that if my lab was ill I would be there to treat her as if she were my child. Like it has been said they always seem to bring joy. I plan on having her bred in oct. Wont be the same as Jackson but maybe fill a void if you are interested. A gift. If interested PM me I will send a pic of her.
