Default What's the biggest motor you've seen on a John boat?

Me and a friend were in the pass yesterday and I swear I saw a 13ft flat bottom john boat with 90hp yammy on the back. We were in a 17ft Carolina Skiff with the same motor. I don't know a lot about boats but that seemed a little overboard to me.

suprised it was still floating! seems like that would be a lot of weight on the back of a boat that small. bet it will haul AZZ though!!

If you were in a 17' carolina skiff with a 90 on the back. You had a little over kill also. My 17' carolina skiff's max rate is 75hp.

I've seen a tiller 40HP on a jon boat. It was a four stroke so it looked huge. Also seems big for a tiller

A guy that I duck hunt with has a 18 ft allweld with a 125 merc on it. I also used to hunt with a guy that had a 24 ft plate boat wit a 455 pontiac and a berkley jet outdrive.

My boat is not nearly so good. 18 ft jonboat with a 35hp tiller. not fast but we kill ducks!

I love high powered duck boats, somthing agout watching a bush fly by at 70+ mph throwing a roostertail!
