I worked heavy industrial construction for 30+ years. We were probably the first industry to have drug testing. As a group the construction workers are the biggest bunch of partying, drinking, drug taking people I've known and yet they don't have problems passing the drug tests............
So I say a waste of money.

If the amount of money saved is not larger than the amount of money spent then it's a dumbass plan. That's like putting a $10,000 alarm system in your car to keep a thief from stealing your $200 stereo. Money wasted that we cannot afford to waste. Then there is all of the added workload that goes with doing the testing, monitoring the results so on and so forth. Then once you do find one, they are going to sue the state and because they have no job now we have to pay for a lawyer and court costs....This thing could easily cost us WAAAY more than it saved.
It's not a waste of money because if they test bad, they pay and get no money. Even if they stiff the bill, we still win because I'm sure the check they would have recieved would have been more then $30 for the test..

The ANTI CHRIST LAWYERS UNION is just trying to do what they always do, which is any and everything they can to make sure that druggies and lazy bastards get free money from the rest of us. Probably part of Soros plan to destroy the US. Got to hand it to him, he and all the other Pinkos have done a Hell of a job so far, they have all but eliminated Relegion, working on taking our guns, the next step to complete the plan is to make as many of us dependent on the Government as possible. That way we become slaves to the powers that be and have no way out. Read any history book about how the countries that have fallen to tyrany and the events just prior to it.

Whatever happened to laws prohibting "Frivolous" Law Suits??

I know a lot of people are out of work and need the State's Assistance. But if they have money to support their illicit drug addiction, they have money to buy food, and pay bills.

If the Law get repealed, isn't this the same as the State saying: "We support your Drug Addiction" or "Buy your illicit drugs, and we'll buy you food and pay your bills" ??

ACLU is against drug tests and universal IDs. I was raised in the military, joined the Navy at 17, retired when I was 48 years old and still work for the Navy so ID cards and drug tests are just part of life to me.
I don't undertand the point of the ACLU fighting these things. Nothing in the Constitution says folks are entitled to welfare. Setting requirements on them to get money from those who work is a no brainer. The ACLU, Soros, Ted Kennedy (while alive) and others all fight (fought) to prevent welfare recipents from having to work or take drug tests or... Wonder why? What is the real reason?

Can you imagine the "Bill" they'll charge the State to levy this suit? Just a money thing, no doubt.

1. The cost of testing them is not $30. That may be the test cost but not the man hours.
2. It's not the $30 for the 2.5 percent that fail that is the problem. It's the $30 for the 97.5 that pass that is the problem....
3. The ACLU has also sued for things that you support. It's always nice to hate on them when the sue for things you don't like but I bet you don't even know the things that they have sued on behalf of you because those things never make the news...

The NRA is predominantly against national ID cards as well.

Said another way: I know users that work in construction and the medical field. They have no fear of the drug test. They pass every time. If they happen to not pass the test they have a backup story to explain the false positive. Drug testing welfare reciepients takes $30 out of our pockets and puts it in the testing company's pocket. I bet the testing companys are lobbying for all they are worth to get this cash cow passed.
