Default Techie input needed

Ok folks, I'm in a delima about getting a computer for the wife. This is what she wants. 13" laptop. Not a gamer. Wants to watch dvds with it, and make dvds too. Does a lot of photos with it, cropping, and all that stuff. Wants good graghics. Runs a small eBay business on it. Doesn't like waiting for programs to load. Does a lot of browsing. Likes her Facebook peeps. Not interested in touchscreen. Last but not least, best bang for the buck. Whats the best deals out there? Your honest recommendations will certainly appreciated and respected. Thanks. P.S. it's gonna be a Christmas present!!

Assuming there is no proprietary software she needs to run and you have access to MAC versions, I'd go with a Mac. We got my mother-in-law a Mac Air a couple of years ago and she loves it. Does take some adjusting to if you have always been PC. If she's going to mostly use it at one location, invest in a larger external monitor and the larger keyboard/mouse combo.

As said, as long as there are no PC-specific programs she requires (doesn't sound like it), I would probably get her a Mac. They aren't the best "bang for the buck" though...
