Default Is tearing up a credit card application good enough?

I was doing a Google searchand found this. Assuming it's true, and we all know everything on the internet is, then I would be shreading all myjunk mail applications. It's surprising what financial institutions will let slide. On the other hand I have tried to do things to my own accounts and it's nearly impossible, especially if you ever forget a stupid password.

That's all fine and dandy but most ID theft/fraud is done by soomeone close - relative or friend; shredding ain't going to make a difference in those situations.

But you should always do everything you can to protect your identity.
