Default Surfing Spot Recommendation

Hi all - I'm new here; was referred by a friend. It's been awhile since I've been in the water but am interested in getting back to surfing. Does anyone have any recommendations in the Pensacola area, preferably spots uncrowded prior to sunrise? I grew up surfing a lot, and spent lots of time riding waves in Micronesia, Hawaii, Bali and California but haven't gone out once after joining the service. It's been about 10 years now, and I'm rusty and out of shape so at this point any size swell that'll help me get back into shape will help. Thanks!

Thanks for the welcome and info; I haven't gotten all my gear together yet but am hoping I'll be ready once a small swell comes through. I'm going to head there soon and have a look around. Are there markers/flags or anything else used to "designate" spots for surfers to stay within?

Fall is upon us and that's one of our better seasons for waves here in the Panhandle ... we may even get a late storm in the Gulf too ... there are several good spots , but personally myself and the people I Surf with have been going East to Navarre and other beaches further East because of the Oil and dispersants in our local waters ... A.P. is THE spot on a SE swell , but there has been too much "stuff" in the water lately

I grew up hear and surf every time there are waves and i have time. One of my favorite spots on Pensacola Beach is 18th street in the residentials. There is a nice break there and according to the forecast there should be some rib to shoulder high sets starting on monday.
