stained pool water
waiting for the pool shop to open in a couple of hours, but in the mean time, hoping for some advice from here.
I have a shit-ton of live oak trees in my yard, and this time of the year is a daily battle with leaves. Well, I called a temporary truce over the holidays, and apparantly the trees did not get the memo, and as a result I had a pool full leaves ( about a 30 gallon trash can full ) and the water is somewhat "stained"
Anybody got any idea's ? I have cleared all the leaves out, and the liner is not stained. Did a really good backwash and rinse of the filter, and cranked the cholrine up. I'll get the water tested this AM as soon as the pool place opens.
I also did my usual dose of "No More Problems" and "Super Klear Plus" but not clearing up after 24 hours. Time will tell ?

That is tannin from the leaves. Chlorine will clear that out. Chlorine will also clear the stains on the liner from the leaves instantly to a week or so depending on how bad, if you shock. Don't buy any crap from the pool store for tannin stains, you'll be wasting your money.
