Default St. George Island...place to stay

My fishing buddy is headed with his family to St. Geroge Island in July and has requested my boat be present. They are renting a really nice place on the beach where we can hang out and go to the beach. I'm looking for a moderate priced place ideally with a boat dock and ramp. Any suggestions? I have never been there but can tell there is not much to choose from other than houses.

Is there a public or pay boat launch on the island?

I was there a couple of years ago and there is a public launch on the left just as you come off the bridge, of course it was closed the whole week we were there. The only place i found to dock my boat was over in
Apalachicola.

I go down to Apalach a couple times a year, but always stay at Bay City Lodge. Take a look on VRBO.com. There are some good deals on there with docks and some that are close to the water.

I have stayed here many times, most recently in March. Appy also has a municipal marina that you could keep your boat at. At Waterstreet, you can walk downstairs to your boat and the facility is in excellent condition. Appy is a beautiful town too.
