Default the southeast is shutdown

well I am stuck in carnesville ga until Atlanta opens up to traffic, I was suppose to get home today but the weather shut down the southeast for maybe 1-2 in of snow and I have been in the Midwest and Canada for a month now with snow up to 12 in. to were I could not see the road. why don't they do like when a hurricane hits and the unaffected states send power companys, tree trimmers and so on? instead they could send snow plows, saltshakers etc.sorry for the rant I just want to get home, I have been on the road too long.

a) the states won't pay for it and b) everybody else is getting hit.

My mom tells me in Atlanta whoever the mayor is didn't close schools yesterday. Kids on buses got stuck in traffic. May still be there. Wonder what ethnicity the mayor is? Doesn't matter, His ass is grass.

Bill got it, it's the ice thats killing us with this storm not snow. I remember going to the ship in New London Ct. 2 feet of snow just wait for a plow and follow or put chains on and drive 5 miles an hour. We will be laughing at this tomorrow evening.

It's not snow it's the 1/2 in of ice that's the problem. Snow is no big deal to me I learned to drive in it and have much of my life but I wouldn't get on the road with this much ice

It's not even the ice that's a problem, it's the people that are driving on it.

I live in N al and we had about 2" of snow. I noticed that when I walk my dog my steps become ice about 1/2 " thick. The same thing is happening to the tire tracks in the streets. Our snow is not melting because our high temp today is about 21 degrees, so we will be in a mess tomorrow. I expect that we will begin to thaw tomorrow afternoon and it should be clear by Friday.
The good news for me is that I am retired and don't have to get out on the roads. The bad news is that there will be no golf or fishing until next week.
