Default Solar powered generators

Has any one ever used these? I have been looking for a good generator and this one seems to be much better then a gas powered and only makes common sense. its about 1,700 bucks kinda pricy but its independent power.

The solar panel in that system is too small for continuous use for very long.

Harbor Freight sells a similarly undersized system for much less. It is found here:

A yahoo group on 12V alternative power is found here:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/12VDC_Power/

It has 40,000 posts and has a good search function.
