Default So I will break the new again...

I posted this a year ago but now it's a big deal.

Here are the facts as it stands now. The guy who is throwing out the allegations is in prison for being the head man in a ponzi scheme. He notified UM of his intent to spill the beans last year. He wanted hush $. They asked for proof which he could not provide. They notified the NCAA for help with the investigation. The NCAA is now investigating. If this is found to be true and history repeats itself we would vacate wins and some of our seniors would be kicked off the team. But there is no proof and Miami's compliance office has been at the spearhead of the investigation. I see it as a win! Kick off Jacory and smear shannons name. Atleast our players didn't put pictures of them with cash on Facebook.

That was from 1993!
I posted that before the Yahoo! story broke. I changed my point of view. Miami is in a ton of trouble. Our starting QB now has over 90 calls in to that guy. There is so much proof. Even if only half is provable it's still 10 times worst than USC. Big trouble!!! If you pull the article click 70 players named link. You can click player to player and see the charges. It's the nuttiest thing I have ever seen!

They had information on over 100 players, they only went to press with 73 because they felt like they had verifiable and corroborated evidence on them.

Hell, Alabama may wind up firing coaches over this (Stoutland and Pannunzio).

What a shame. I hope Bama fires them today. They appear to have cleaned up their act since Saban got there. That's the last thing they need is coaches bringing heat.

As for Miami, I been reading about it all morning and they are in some deep trouble. They could be punished for the next 10 years!!

Not looking good at all for the "U". The scary thing is it happens at ALL the schools. There is no way to stop a booster or a kid accepting favors.

i would agree that there are improper benefits on some level given to players at almost every school. but not to this extent. this is crazy. this is not a guy behind the scenes slipping a good kid some extra spending money. this was a guy that basically is looking like he stole MILLIONS (i'll assume not all $930M was used for miami football) from "investors" just to buy buy buy for miami players. like bernie madoff gave him an idea of how to finally become recognized with miami football. when you start hearing about yachts, luxury cars, and sex parties - i'm not sure that happens every day. not saying it doesn't happen, just not as common as even a reggie bush or even a cam newton situation.
