Default To snitch or not snitch...

If you had some believable info from a reliable source regarding a retail seafood dealer selling one specie as another, would you feel it is egregious enuff to report them?

I know the board that oversees these operations would likely easily be able to confirm this by his bought and sold records if not then they could buy some of this fish and test it?

I would rarely snitch but I would hate to think that I was being taken advantage of to the tune of a $10.00 per pound difference!

The "proof" I have is one employee explaining to another... I am close to the one being told this.

sig, in this instance he is selling one well known specie as another very well known specie.

Both can be found in our area although I do not know the locale these were caught from.

It could enhance the balance of your checking account if you tip off the FWC. They have a lucrative reward program. Also the FDA has been on the backs of those that intentionally mislable saltwater products being sold to the consumer. It seems there has been a rash of this across the country. Must be very profitable to the dishonest dealers.

Hewes, Yeah, one specie is normally 10 bucks a pound and the other is often upwards of $20 so that is a 100% more for the fraudulent specie.

Between this board and the other, it is pretty clear that those responding would snitch.

I would like to put more details out but don't want to tip the outfit off.

If any one has the interest, send me a PM and I will tell the 2 species in question and see if folks think they are close enuff to pass as each other...
