The last time I did mine I used Cabot Semi-Solid Deck & Siding Stain. I was very happy with it.

It held up well. I can't remember exactly how long it lasted though. My guess would be 5-6 years. The sun is brutal on the sealers so if you can use one with a colored tint to it I think you will get a longer life from it. Just my $0.02.

Let me know what you decide to do. I am hoping to get my done within the next couple of weeks or so.

On newly installed pressure treated wood (nothing will bond) if you have a weathered deck the best way to clean is wood cleaner and a pressure washer the cleaner removes the tanic acid (the black stuff) Now the best thing I have found to put on wood is Sikkens cetol (the only one reccomended for log houses) It comes in clear or colors but it is not cheap $68.00 per gal if put on properly will last 5 to 7 years can be purchased at paint mart on fairfield

Thanks, will do. I also plan to do mine within the next couple of weeks. I'm pretty sure I am going to use the WoodRx unless I hear of something better before then or they just don't have a color in stock that I like.

Well, finished up the deck project today. The BGE table got sealed as well. They both turned out good. Used WoodRx and was pleased with the results. I used weathered gray for the deck and natural for the BGE table. Here are some before, during and after pics.

That looks pretty darn good! I'll have to post a pic of our deck. I'm seeing that in a few places, we should've used a few more "support" boards so I may have to pull just a few boards that are "sagging" a little.
