Default Scumbag Alert

There's a guy in a light tan, small SUV running around the downtown area claiming he's with a concrete crew that's doing all the seawalls in Gulf Breeze. They had a blowout on their backhoe trailer. He's gotta get it towed or FDOT said he's getting a $600 ticket.
Anyway, he ends up needing $30 to make the towing bill.
He acted like he was on the phone when he came up to me saying "maybe this guy is from the area and can help."
So naturally I thought he needed directions. When he started telling me his life story and didn't get to the point I knew it was a scam.
He hit me up on Bayfront Parkway last Monday and hit up a co-worker with the same story on Cervantes this morning so beware.

I had the same guy come up to me at West Marine on Davis about a month ago. Same deal, a 4" gash on his trailer and police were going to ticket him if he didn't move it. Said he called all of his buddies and couldn't get them to answer. Said he called 3 different towing companies and the cheapest one was such and such and he had 90 dollars and needed 30 more dollars. I told him that I don't carry cash and he asked if I could go to an ATM and use my debit card. I said nope and he walked to home depot parking lot. That had to be one of the best stories I've ever heard. Almost had me convinced.

The crock of shit is this person is working for a company, but they do not have the money to get another tire for the trailer. Yet, they are doing seawalls around the city???

The other person; that's when you suggest he drag it on the flat/rim real slow until he gets into a parking lot or at least off the road. Then wait for their response.

Well ya see, "Bob" had to take his wife to the emergency room at 4:00 am.
He was inferring that Bob was the crew member with the money. The guy was full of crap and the detail of his story was ridiculous.

Speaking of crooks, had a lady at the gas station come up to me asking for money to make it home. I told her I would pull around to her car when I got through filling my truck. So I pull over there and her and another chick are standing there. I ask her again what she needed and she said just 10 bucks to make it home. I go to her car and turn the key on and she had 3/4 of a tank of gas ! I called her out on it and she admitted they was trying to get money to buy beer SMDH

I gave a guy $20 in gas at the loves in loxley. I work over there. His wife and daughter had been I an accident in defuniak springs and in a panic he ran off without his wallet. I believed him. I was gassing up and had no cash just the card so I pulled him up and gave him some. About 2 months later I was at the raceway just across the interstate. He hit me up again. He gave me the same story. When I called him out he said it wasn't him. He jumped in his van and left. I watched him leave. He went north on hwy 59 instead of hitting the interstate headed to defuniak where his wife lay dying in an accident .

Had a couple pull up to me when I was launching my boat at 17th Ave. ramp. They both started mouthing words and pointing to their ears to indicate that they were both deaf. They handed me a note, that read, 'We need $10. for gas to get back to Milton.'

I started signing them, asking what they were doing in Pensacola? They looked at me like two pigs looking at a wristwatch. I told them that I didn't have anything for them and that when they finally got back to Milton, they should stay there. Off they went. Pretty good scam. 8 out of 10 for creativity.

I've heard so many sob stories that I've been forced into telling people no, go away. Think I'm gonna switch it up soon to sorry, but I really just don't care. There's way too many trying to scam folks out of their hard earned money and I'm approached far too often. As a single parent I have a hard enough time paying my own bills and if I have a few extra pennies I'm not giving them away
