The reference is so completely off or " Bonkers" as you say it does not Merritt a response but I will anyway. Comparing a Tax shelter Cult like Scientology to Christianity is like comparing the Manson Family to Islam. Scientology is complete fiction created by a Science fiction writer. The Bible, Koran, etc. were written thousands of years ago by many people with first hand knowledge of the events of the times and have Billions of believers world wide. You I assume are agnostic or Atheist ( Both are the same to me ) and part of very small % of the worlds population that do not believe in a supreme Being or accountability for the way you live your life / treat others. I'm not bashing you for it, to each his own. I do know this, if I'm wrong along with all other religious people the worst case is we die and rot, if your wrong it will be much worse for you.

Either way, my post was not created to start a religious debate as I do not consider Scientology a religion at all and think it's absurd to think you can buy your way into a meeting with what they call God. Tom Cruse is the worst spokes person they could have picked to promote them as he is a terrible speaker, how I have no idea, he is a good actor. They should have given him a script to learn instead of letting him just babble like a moron.

Trust me I know. My oldest stepson decided not to go through with Confirmation when he was 17 and although it was dissapointing , I respected him for not selling out and telling a lie IN church. He says he is Athiest but he is a warm and kind young man of 23 now, so as I said, to each his own.

For me, faith is the only thing that gets me through the day sometimes.

Without faith in God we are no different than the animals and there really is no point in living, only existing.

One of the most ignorant things I've ever read. Goes right in line with Turtle's comment, "Atheist, Agnostic, same thing." I'm not getting into another religion debate either, but most of what you posted is completely subjective and teetering on nonsense. There are no facts behind anything you said, just opinions. Just because billions of people believe something, doesn't make it true. I find it truly sad that people honestly think that without god, we're no better than animals? That statement is just utterly ridiculous.

Two things I have found that you can talk someone's ear off about and never change their mind (or allow them to change your mind) are religion, and abortion. These things have to be experienced. I know of a couple of die hard atheists who had life changing experiences that led them to believe in God (not because someone argued about it with them) and I worked with a guy who was extremely pro choice until he paid for the abortion and was in there with the girl when it happened. Sickened him, and he will never be the same because of it. Life changers, for sure.

I'm not sure about God, I won't begrudge a man's religion though. I WILL tell jokes though, about Baptists and drinking, Catholics and guilt, Lutheran's and well,... smiling, (there's a joke there)...

If we cannot laugh at ourselves and the simple curiosities of our faith, or lack of faith, we need to take a deep breath and try again.
