Of course the Osage refers to the Osage Indians that used the wood for bows. They were especially fierce and the average height was 6'6"

Just curious where you found the mock orange/horse apples. I've seen them in the Prairie dirt Black Belt in Central AL but not down here in sandy land.

Correct! Those were hanging over the Alabama River between Camden and Selma. I know of 4 trees in the area. The other 3 are in fence rows that once separated some old cotton fields
