Default Riding lawn mower help

My father-in-law has a 1969 Sears riding mower that has recently quit on him. Does anyone on the forum work on mowers this old? He has done all the common stuff to try and get it started but nothing works.

Donate it to a museum. Really, though, if you only have to go mower shopping every 40 years or so, ya can't complain. Warn him that prices have changed a little since '69.

I wouldn't get rid of it either. It'll probably last longer than one built today. Reelthrill can you give us more info on what it's doing or not doing?

He said he has put a new battery in and changed the spark plug and it still will not fire. He says the solenoid just clicks and it might possibly be the starter. I don't even know if you could get parts for it. Let me know if you come up with anything.
Thanks,
Mike
