Default Restaurant recommendation needed pls

My wife's birthday is this week. Our favorite place was Jamies on Zaragossa (sp?) but they closed down a few years back and I was needing some ideas for a nice, romantic dinner. Maybe someplace with candles on the table and all that good stuff. Quiet like, not a party spot like so many area joints are. Any ideas for the Pensacola area? Thx in advance.

Depending upon how much you want to spend....Global Grill and Jackson's on Palafox are very nice but plan on spending some $$. Global will average $75 per person and Jacksons around $100 per person. One of my favorites and it costs less is Dharma Blue - across from Hub Stacy's. Plan on about $40 to $50 per person. If you want less than that, try Jaco's at the end of Palafox Pier. Nice view and $30 to $40 is the norm. Hope that helps.

+1 for Iron. Excellent food quality and not too noisy most nights.

+1 on Dharma Blue. It's smaller and quieter than most of the downtown spots, and it has a good menu. Wife and I and friends had a good meal there this week.

Iron sounds GREAT, we will have to try that. Grand Marlin just across the toll bridge on Pcola Beach to the left is pretty good, GREAT Bar B Que shrimp.

If you have a little money to spend, we love Rodizio Grill. It's expensive. But the food is awesome. Go on a Friday evening when they have wild game night and you will not be disappointed.

Obriens Bistro is near the mall and away from the Mardis Gras hooplah going on this weekend; great food, excellent service and quiet. Nothing wrong with Darma Blue, Fish House, or Global Grill but they will be packed for Mardis Gras.
