Default Raccoon thief caught in the act!!!

My wife left the dog food out on the patio last night and about 11pm at night I heard something rattling around out there. Opened the curtain and seen this hungry raccoon. I took the pics and watched it for about 20 mintues while it ate about 15 handfuls of dog food. I think it is a she and is pregnant, or it's a really fat raccoon. I think my back yard is safe other than late at night when this joker is running around.

She's fat and pretty. Probably been in other people's dog/cat food too. Good photos.

My Mom and Dad have had a family of raccoons eating their cat food for some time, but what really blew me away was when Mom told me about the box turtle that does the same thing, sure enough later that day it showed up and I saw it several times last summer when I happened to be there visiting.

When I lived on the ICW in Grand Lagoon I had raccoons come up on my deck at night. To discourage one I shot him with a BB gun while only pumping twice.
Shot him in the chest as he stood up on his hind legs. He took the shot, kinda looked at his chest, then back at me almost like "Dude... that wasn't necessary." He got back on all 4's and ambled slowly off the deck.

They are cool, SMART animals, but can carry rabies.

We got wildlife all over here in Niceville... fortunately the dogs eat it too fast for there to be any left.
