Superspook is correct. Although even with AKC dogs you have to be careful, I've seen some awful AKC labs. Thereare alot of ways for people to breed related dogs or do anything to make a quick dollar. There are warning signs to look for and I'd be happy to show some to you.

So yall know my lab is ckc, minus some atrophy she is is a good dog, I had most of the pups homes had I bred her...But had I bred her it would not have been the right thing to do just based on the atrophy, I was just one of those "she needs to have a litter" guys lol. I bought her when I had to put my old lab down and ckc was a new one to me, I have no regrets she is a great dog and will retreive until "I" get tired...But I bought her for a pet not a hunt or showdog, though I am pretty sure she would have hunted had I trained her.

I would get with big blue on this as he has some great dogs and alot of people here own one, also, and trust meon this...You do want someone who has bred labs to be involved if possible, otherwise it can be a real pain/headache trying to get them to lock up...it's not always easy going even when it should be...I read it is best to bring the female to male.

Thanks for the kind words! There are also some really good CKC dogs, you just have to know what to look for in any of them. There are alot of lab/mixes that are great dogs. A lab carries a dominant gene, so bred with another breed, they usually look more like a lab. If you are gonna pay a premium price, I believe you should get a quality dog! Good bloodlines usually have better overall health, less skin problems(which labs are prone to) and a longer lifespan. Alot of skin problems can be remedied by changing their food. Hope this helps!

Yeah I do not mean to sound likeckc is all bad, just lesser when compared to akc as a whole and both have flaws...Plenty of good dogsin both clubs, and there is always other optionsto breeding just to get a pup...by finding young papered dogsin rescues, or the infamous"6mos old lab free to good home"ads we always see...for now I am just keeping the one I have which is enough lol.

I'm on my 3rd Chocolate.

Chips & Tootsi were from all different parents. Both had Chocolate parents.

With having 2 liters...She spun off 2 Yellows in each litter and there were some darker / almost Blacks . But most all were Chocolates.

Now Jack has a Black mother and a Red Bone looking Daddy.

He's 8yrs old now and I've never bred him. Oh he's ready. He gets along with all animals, people especially women and children. A neighbor has a pretty cool cat he plays with too.

He's 93lbs and NOT fat.

Jack sitting on Nat's boat while his daddy was working on it.

I've had my lab for 10 years now and he is the best dog I have ever owned. He is AKC and only 55lbs. The smallest one I've ever seen but he could retrieve like nobodys business. He's even retrieved geese but that was a little much for him. Good luck on finding a stud and if you want to keep one and train it to retrieve I recommend getting a book called Water Dog. It made the whole thing very easy.

I have a 5yr old 110# Black Lab named Hogan...He has been proffesionaly trained and is AKC. He has the best disposition of any dogI know...I broke him of jumping on people when he was a pup...so know he can jump 6ft high..never touch you and insert his tounge in your mouth!! Dont believe it...come over.

I told him a girl Lab was looking to get lucky...the picture below was his reaction...

I had him neutered as a small boy!

Damn it! I wish I could take that back!

Thanks guys for the info on this, I'm want her to have a litter so I can get one as a puppy and train her, when we got her she didn't even no her name. It been a long 8 months with a dog that does not listen to you. She is alot smaller then the studs I seen on here. I'll try to get some good pictures of her soon.
