Default Question about the shooting in San Bernardino

The FBI is in that pond looking for the hard drive. Why do they not just drain it ?? Not that big and it seems it would be a hole lot easier.

They just said on the news, that they are afraid things they are looking for would sink into the mud if they drained it...so they prob know what they are doing
