Default Public or Private schools

If someone were to move to the Orange Beach or Foley area, what are some of the best schools? Are the schools in the Pensacola area better? We are in a private school now because where we live now the public school is horrible.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Would help a little with ages of children for school selection. There are several excellent choices (public and private) in Pensacola depending on what you need.

Cordova Park Elementary. It is a public school in Pensacola but is just as good as any private school!

I live in west P'cola, no kids, but my friends are VERY satisfied with Helen Caro Elementary and Jim Bailey Middle School.

Escambia schools are hit or miss. My with had a few clients who attended ECS and I would not send my kid there. She is sitting next to me and we can't remember for sure but the really really bad school may be westgate. They are north of I-10 on 29. As far as private if your not religious there are no options. The private schools are much cheaper than the rest of the country. I would move to Navarre or Gulf Breeze, send my kid to public santarosa schools and call it a day. The reason for that is they are great there AND if children dual enrolled the public school system could pay for the kids AA or close to it. Private schools don't allow dual enrollment for the most part which does not help the child compete.

The ages are 9 and 12. Finding a good school will dictate the move for sure. Thanks for the input and hope it works out. Look forward to meeting you guys. Will check these out and see how it goes. Looks like a buyers market as far as housing goes also.....

Don't know much about Foley or Orange beach but as far as Pensacola is concerned, it's definitely hit or miss.

Cordova Park is awesome! My son started at St Paul Catholic for Kindergarten in 2008/2009. We moved him to Cordova Park for 1st grade. This decision was purely financial as we loved St Paul's also.

I live in the 32504 zip code. We have great choices for elementary schools. Middle School is going to be a different story. For now, we are planning on going back to St Paul's.
