Default power steering repair question

isuzu trooper: line was cut, i need a new line, can't find one for sale anywhere. if i brought the ends to someone, could they make a flexible hose or does it have to be rigid? there are flexible hoses in the system already.

Take it to rubber and specialties they can make a new one. Rigid or flexible. Take both pieces with you.

Take what you got to a hydraulic shop. They'll make you one.

Aight, got the line done but have a little gripe with rubber and specialties. I drove over, walked in, showed the guy my broken line (didn't notice his name tag), explained that I need about 54" with this on one end and that on the other. He didn't say a word, matched up the connectors, walked over and cut off some hose, crimped the ends on, then brought me the hose. Asked if it was cash or account, I said cash (I had a crisp 50 ready to go), he goes to punching on the computer, not saying a word, then hands me the ticket and says take it to that lady over there. I look and this 5 minutes of work and 4-1/2' of hose is 72 bucks!! Dangit man. Good thing I had more cash on me...

Hope that thing isn't too much of a project. R/S has always been pricey imo. Napa can usually do the same job.

I always use Pensacola Rubber and Gasket, Those guys are super nice. You talk to the guys in the shop, they make the hose and then hand it back to you. Then you walk inside and pay..
