Jason, do you think it would be more cost effective to just buy pre split firewood from some of the local vendors? like i said, i have tons of wood to split BUT i have a big fire pit outside that i could use the big logs in. i would be splitting the firewood for our fireplace inside the house...

i split a truckload of big wood into 4 pieces and it took me about 2 or 3 hrs to get it all split and put up.....plus i got all my wood from the hunting lease so i actually got alot more wood for my money that i would have if i bought it...plus i know where a whole lot more of it is that just has to be split just need a splitter and i will have wood for this year, next and maybe part of the year after

Skulls where is the hunting camp at? I have an towable log splitter that has a 5.5hp motor on it.. Splits pretty good... I usually sell firewood during the winter time when I have enough, but if you rent one get it from like outpost or the tool shack.. Cause you can pick it up on saturday and take it back monday morning for 1 price.. Which is about 80 bucks after taxes.
