Default Pool Pump

My pool pump is beginning to get very loud. I assume it needs new bearings.

Any recommendations for a pool guy?

Don't know, I do all my own pool stuff...
... but I can tell you that you will buy a new pump for less then you can have the bushings changed.

I was surprised to find this out, even the expensive Polaris booster pumps are cheaper to replace then repair.

Not sure if it would be cheaper,But you will need to have it fixed withthin hours..Or Im sure your pool will turn green pretty quick with how hot it is..

Yes, good point. I would shock it and let the pump run (noisey as it may be). Source your new pump before you take it 'out of service'.

They are really not hard to change, just take your model number down to Pensacola Pools and they will hook you up.

You can TRY to take your old pump to escambia electric, and get it re-built... but It was my experience that their re-built cost was higher then a new pump.

It;'s not that tough, can I talk you through it?

Jim
Gimme a call, if it is bearings, it is well worth fixing. I am not at the shop but I can get dad right on it if you want. Our general rule is if it is over 50% of the cost of new we give you a call and let you decide.

Sailing Faith if you would PM me the name yours was under and the aprox date, I would like to see what was going on that made it more than a new one, that is highly unusual.
