i found it at 1645. that was cool. my first time. took a pic and took and left a goodie!! when i found it, i was 1.5 foot away on my gps. oh yea, i signed the log also. that was neat. i think the google is cheating. (it did cut down on the time)

I like this idea......i might decide to do something like this for us west side folks.

maybe a gpscoord to get you within 50' and then some other directions so that it won't totally be dependant upon lat/long

BADBOY69 (12/18/2007)Great idea and good job to those lookin'! So, it will stay at the same location? Been thinkin' 'bout one that moves w/ each "find". New post w/ coordinates follows. Whomever finds 'mark' will hide and post new coordinate location. Got the idea while conducting surveillance in an area and kept seeing kids(14-18) goin' to a particular place and retrieving unknown objects from underbrush. Thought it to be contraband but when I looked I found a small, watertight canister w/ log and all locations it had been previously hidden!
It will stay in the same location. I also thought about doing a clue based one, but opted for this instead for the first go-around.

John, you're a wimp. Lane & I (a couple of old farts)found it, a few minutes after you were there,in the dark, without the aid of our walking canes, within 3 minutes after leaving the sidewalk. Crawling around on those rocks was tough, but no injuries; and in addition, found 1 package of unused condoms and 2 partially burnedreefers.

Congrats to you guys ahead of us. We left some goodies, took pics, and replaced for others to test their navigational skills.

Good job Corpsman!clap:clap

i tried to find it but could not....i dug around abit and all i could find was this old coin... an 1883 S gold color $20 dollar coin with double eagles on it. went by tom thumb and the cashier gave me $20 worth of gas for the coin...so i guess the coin was still good!
