I can set here and slam you & what you do all day long! Don't mean it's true, but, it might be true for me. So, can you please hold my hand? Send me a big refund coupon. It's the times. I need someone in L.A. Take a real deep breath, and have a cold drink with a lil stick in it. Business as usual.

At risk of being blasted, which I can live with, but I don't see where the fault lies with one person. In this day, everyone talks about accountability. I don't care if you are 65 or 25, stand up and take responsibility for your actions or in this case inactions.
I will say that I'm the world's worst at paper work. But I would not say someone else is to blame for me not completing required paperwork. Finally, I may have missed it, but I think Turtle maintiained good ettiquette with not mentioning names.

Ooooops, my clairvoyance and crystal ball failed again. That is what I get for believing "The reason for this rant is I had a older gentleman leave a very rude message on my machine that closed with the statement " If you have the guts call me back and get this straightened out" . Turtle said nothing about a post on this forum in his rant.

Thats because I didn't know he actualy bashed me on this Forum. I did not put his name in any thing and still won't because I simply needed to vent as many of the members here have done and I'm sure will continue to do. To be honest I would be happy to repair the problem and take all the blame on paper just to get him covered again. All he has to do is ask.

I know this whole thing looking at it after a breather looks pretty petty and stupid on all perspectives and I'm over it. Everyone who commented on the whole Homeowners problem in Florida is correct and companies will try very hard NOT to keep policies in force. My advice to all is to stay on top of it and if a company does offer you a renewal start shopping the premium around as soon as you get it and if it does not save you more then $300 per year I would stay right where you are since you know they are willing to keep you as a insured.

I forgot to add, some companies send the same letter to the Agent that they send to the insured but others do not. So if you do get a letter from your carrier, do not assume your Agent got the same letter. Most of them will say " Contact your Agent " and list their #. Make that call.

The way I read it is that five months before his policy would expire he got a letter. Notifying him that when it did expire in five months, they would not re-new the policy if he did not provide the info they wanted.
Even if you ignored the letter and paid to re-new in five months, it would be refused.

Nothing was canceled, it expired.

"There never was a current bill (renewal) notice mentioned after the 5 months ago non-renewal request for info."

The request for info was prior to and seperate from the non-renewel notice letter.
He had at least two chances to correct the situation.

Your not going to get a "current bill" after they have told you in writting that they are not going to re-new.

The policy expired due to his own neglience.

It's all good, no hard feelings here. I talked to the inspector and tried to get a new wind mit form and it's just no possible, just trying to make his transition to his next company easy but Florida keeps changing the rules on us. First they say to everyone that the inspection is good for five years and then the next month they change to a new form and won't accept the one you just paid for.

Any way, I'm working with the new agent to get him insured. I think he will be fine.
